Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring a WA or compact license and flexibility with day or night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Position is within a 25-bed Operating Room unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Hospital is a Magnet and teaching facility specializing in heavy Ortho, Spine, and Neuro cases with 60-70 cases
- No cardiac or transplant cases are seen in this OR
- Epic charting system is used; Epic experience preferred
- Medication system is Pyxis
- Work a rotating schedule with day and night shifts that include 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts, weekends required
- No on-call requirement
- Floating within scope to other units is not required
- Scrubs are facility provided
- Daily onsite and offsite parking is available for a fee
- Responsibilities include circulating in heavy Ortho, Spine, and Neuro OR cases
- Travelers must be flexible with scheduling and may have varying shift lengths
- Weekend and holiday shifts required; facility does not consider Sunday nights as a weekend shift
- Offsite garage parking is available with shuttle service during weekdays
- All documentation and certifications must be submitted for consideration
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required, compact candidates must complete WA licensing and suicide prevention training
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years OR experience with Level 1 Trauma and Neuro required; 3-4 years preferred
- Circulating skills required
- Experience in a teaching hospital and trauma hospital is preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- RTO not allowed during orientation week and may not exceed 6 days during the assignment
- Prior UW staff must be separated for at least 18 months before consideration
- First-time travelers are accepted
