Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a LA or compact RN license and strong critical care skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the ICU with a primary patient ratio of 1:2, occasionally flexing to 1:3
• Day shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Requires working four weekend shifts per four-week schedule
• Floating required to all ICUs and may float to ED or PACU to care for ICU patients, with occasional float to MS/PCU units (1:4 ratio)
• Care may involve patients with impella and NxStage devices
• Unit uses Epic EMR
• Equipment includes Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis, Edwards Lifesciences monitors, Medtronic EVD, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill Rom Beds, Pyxis, Veratron Bladder Scanner
• Nurses are responsible for lab draws, EKGs, and line starts
• Must be able to care for COVID-19 and isolation patients and know N95 mask size
• RTO is limited to 5 days total, with minimal time off allowed during Mardi Gras (2/13 - 2/22)
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Former permanent employees must be separated from any LCMC facility for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Dress code requires appropriate scrubs as per unit guidelines

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI (can be obtained at facility), and NIHSS
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Preferred experience with impella and NxStage devices
