Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Transplant Operating Room position that requires strong liver transplant experience and a current IN or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Operating Room focused on abdominal transplants including kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal/multi-visceral procedures
- Short-term acute care hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Call required, totaling 40-60 hours per 6-week period
- Floating required to multiple specialties and surgeries within the hospital and potentially to affiliate hospitals
- Cerner is used for charting and EMR documentation
- Free parking available
- Handle perioperative care for abdominal transplant procedures excluding pediatrics
- Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Return to work as a traveler requires a 12-month gap after ending permanent or PRN employment at the facility
- Scrub color requirements apply as per facility policy
- Locals accepted; different pay structure may apply
- Auto-approval for 5 days or less of requested time off (RTO)
- Perioperative RN travelers are exempt from local candidate restrictions at this facility
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required at time of start; pending license accepted if start is 2-4 weeks out
- Minimum of 2 years transplant OR experience, specifically with liver transplant procedures
- Current BLS certification accepted from AHA or RQI
- Regulatory Charting for Transplants certification required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Cerner charting experience required or ability to learn quickly
- First-time travelers accepted with 2 years of strong transplant experience
