Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a magnet-designated teaching hospital with on-call and weekend shift requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Cath Lab setting
- Care for patients undergoing coronary angiograms/interventions, peripheral vascular studies, placement of Swan Ganz catheters, temporary pacing wires, cardiac device implants, and EP/ablation procedures
- Handles both scheduled outpatient procedures and urgent/emergent cases such as STEMIs
- Required to work 4x12 hour day shifts, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm, and on weekends
- On-call coverage required
- Floating within the hospital may be required but not to sister hospitals
- Uses Epic EMR; experience is preferred but not required
- No block scheduling available
- Travelers participate in pre-procedure workup, intra-procedure circulating, administration of moderate sedation, equipment set-up, and post-procedure care including sheath management and proper hand-offs
- No scrub role responsibilities; monitoring during procedures is appreciated
- Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any color allowed otherwise
- First-time travelers with adequate experience may be considered
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Position is in a magnet-designated, level 4 trauma teaching facility
- Holiday coverage may be required as part of the schedule
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required at the time of consideration (pending not accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath or EP lab RN experience
- Experience in a teaching hospital and trauma hospital preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required, no exceptions
- RTO not allowed during orientation; maximum of 1 week off permitted
- Former UW staff must have a separation of at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
