Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med-Surg General Surgery/Trauma position requiring a current NY RN license and EPIC EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting on the General Surgery/Trauma unit
• Night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient population includes general surgery and trauma cases
• EMR system: EPIC; experience required
• No blocked scheduling is permitted
• Competency testing is required, with two attempts permitted to pass the Med-Surg exam for candidates with less than 2 years experience
• No local candidates accepted from designated counties within a 50-mile radius
• More than three call outs in a 13-week contract may result in termination; make-up shifts must be completed within six weeks
• Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application
• First time travelers are eligible to apply
• Travel pairs are not permitted for this assignment
• Travelers may only apply to one position at a time

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at the time of application
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med-Surg experience in a similar specialty
• Current certifications from AHA or RQI (BLS, ACLS as applicable) required
• EPIC EMR experience required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs not accepted
• Medical documentation required for FLU vaccine exemption
