Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Flex Pool Med/Surg position in Hawaii requiring a current HI RN license and flexibility to float between adult medical and surgical units.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Flex Pool role covering various medical, surgical, and cardiovascular units
• Primary patient population includes adult med-surg and step-down patients across units with variable acuity
• Potential to float between Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular units
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Medical unit 1:6 (days/eves), 1:8 (nights); Laulima 1:6; Cardiovascular Unit 1:4
• 12-hour day shifts from 0645 to 1915, with a schedule of 36 hours per week after orientation
• Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis medication dispensing system, wound vacs, and chest tubes
• Orientation and unit-specific training is provided for each assigned area
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start
• Travelers must be available in Hawaii the Thursday before the Monday start for required Employee Health clearance
• Immunity documentation is required; medical and religious exemptions are not accepted
• Professional nursing attire with clean scrubs required

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by assignment start date
• Minimum of 2 years of recent med-surg nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Ability to float between adult med-surg, surgical acute, and cardiovascular units as needed
