Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a valid ND or compact RN license, BLS certification, and strong General, Neuro, and Ortho surgical skills.

Responsibilities

Position is in an acute care hospital operating room supporting a Level 1 Trauma environment
Assignment involves circulating duties with a focus on General, Neuro, and Ortho procedures, including GYN, Urology, laparoscopic, and navigation cases
Uses EPIC EMR, Accudose, cautery, lasers, arthroscopy, laparoscopic equipment, and Stealth navigation for Neuro
8 or 10 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with 1-2 late stay shifts per week
On-call rotation includes 1 weekend every 6 weeks plus 1 weekday per week
Possible floating to nearby SMCF or SU campuses in Fargo if case volumes are low, though this is rare
Serves multiple campuses with a total of 33 operating rooms
Circulating nurses will prep surgical sites, insert catheters, open sterile supplies, position patients, and document care using EPIC
Teamwork is essential in this fast-paced operating room environment
Scrubs in ceil blue are provided by the facility
All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility daily
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Holiday coverage may be required as per unit scheduling needs

Requirements

Active ND or Compact RN license required
Current AHA BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience, including experience in Level 2 or higher trauma centers
Proficiency in General, Neuro, and Ortho procedures, with additional skills in GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic surgeries
Familiarity with EPIC charting is required
Candidates must not reside within a 60 mile radius of the facility; local travel rate applies for those living 60-80 miles away
Previous employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
