Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Surgical ICU position requiring trauma level experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position based in a hospital Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Care for adult surgical and trauma patients with complex conditions
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm - 7:00am
• Five shifts per week with 8-hour shifts
• Trauma level experience required
• Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care in accordance with the nursing process
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient outcomes and revise care plans
• Assesses educational needs and readiness to learn of patients and families
• Participates in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
• Requires providing culturally competent care and supporting patient advocacy
• Maintains a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state license required
• Minimum of one year nursing experience
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC required
• Previous Surgical ICU experience preferred
• Ability to perform bedside point of care testing
