Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position with a strong telemetry background and current NC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a short-term acute care, Level III trauma, and teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope and between like units
• Does not accept travel pairs
• Epic EMR system used; prior Epic experience preferred
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Responsibilities include providing skilled nursing care to PCU patients in a fast-paced hospital setting
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs
• No on-call requirement
• Return staff must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Contract extensions limited to one renewal; a 6-month break is required after completing two contracts
• Time off requests are subject to manager's discretion
• Holiday coverage as scheduled by the unit

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/telemetry experience required
• Must pass EKG exam before starting the assignment
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Pending or temporary licenses not accepted
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
