Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an inpatient rehab position, requiring a NY RN license and at least one year of acute rehab experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an inpatient rehab unit with a focus on patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injuries
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:12 on nights
• Must be willing to float to med-surg units
• Use of Hoyer Lift and sit-to-stand lift equipment
• Epic EMR system is preferred but not required
• No local candidates within a 75-mile radius will be considered
• Primary responsibilities include providing nursing care to adults with neurological and spinal injuries in a rehab setting
• Block scheduling requests may be considered, but not guaranteed
• Requesting more than 1 week of time off during the contract is not permitted
• Maximum of 3 call-off shifts permitted per 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
• Minimum of 1 year acute rehab nursing experience required
• Experience with CVA (cerebrovascular accident) patient care
• First-time travelers are accepted
