Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma experience and BLS certification for a day shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital in the Operating Room (Core 3 & 4 units)
• Handles cases in general, plastics, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro and ortho, GU, and colorectal robotics
• Average daily census is 70-80 with 21 operating rooms
• Schedule: 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Required to be on-call for 6 shifts within a 6-week period, which can vary
• Floating may be required within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience required
• Scrub attire is provided
• Responsible for circulating various surgical cases except CV and transplant
• Candidates must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates from Indiana are accepted for this position
• Auto-approval for up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO)
• Free parking is available onsite
• All travelers may be floated according to hospital needs, but OR and perioperative nurses are exempt from policy changes restricting IN residents

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license, or temporary license at start
• Minimum of 3 years of OR RN experience, including at least 1 year in a Level I trauma setting
• BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted and current)
• Ability to circulate is required; scrub experience preferred
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Returning employees must be separated for at least 12 months before consideration
