Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and acute care experience for a hospital-based assignment requiring an MD license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute care hospital setting
• Schedule is day shift, 4x10 hour shifts from 8:00 to 18:30
• Patients seen include a wide range of diagnoses with an average daily census of 28
• Caseload consists of 8 visits per day with a 1:1 patient ratio
• Weekend shifts required as needed, typically one weekend per month
• Scrub colors are Caribbean Blue or Lavender
• Assess and treat patients using evidence-based practice in an acute care environment
• Coordinate care and collaborate with other healthcare disciplines
• Participate in departmental programs, activities, and continuing education
• May be required to supervise students as available
• Must adhere to department productivity standards and priorities
• First time travelers are not considered for this role
• Up to two requests for time off (RTO) will be considered

Requirements

• Current CCC-SLP certification required
• Maryland State SLP license required or pending; license required if applicable
• At least 1 year of recent acute care experience preferred
• FEES certification preferred
• ASHA membership preferred
• Ability to maintain clinical competency and adhere to ethical principles of practice
• Acute care skills required
