Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with ARRT credentials and experience in mammography to join a busy imaging team.

Responsibilities

• Work in a dedicated mammography unit with potential coverage for DEXA scans
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts required
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Remote diagnostic studies are interpreted offsite
• Uses PACS for image storage and reporting
• Operate mammography and related imaging equipment and perform patient imaging procedures
• Prepare and position patients, select technical parameters, and ensure patient education about the procedure
• Evaluate and submit high-quality images and accurate patient data to PACS
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and standard precautions using personal protective equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all assigned areas
• Critical thinking and the ability to work independently in a busy environment are essential
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate per facility radius rule
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of mammography experience
• Current BLS from AHA or American Red Cross required within 30 days of start
• Radiologic Technologist registration from ARRT (R) required
• Completion of a federally approved 40-hour mammography training course within 90 days of start and 25 supervised studies as per Texas state requirements
• Current Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification required
• ARRT (M) Mammography certification preferred
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and permanent US home address
• License required if applicable
