Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Electrophysiology Technologist with at least one year of EP Lab experience to join a high-volume cardiac cath lab team.
Responsibilities
- Work in a dedicated electrophysiology (EP) lab within a comprehensive cardiac cath lab department
- Unit includes 2 dedicated EP labs and 5 cath labs in total
- Average daily caseload is 6-10 EP procedures and 15-20 total department cases
- Patient population includes arrhythmia evaluations, AFib, Aflutter, SVT, PVC, VT, and complex device implantation
- Procedures performed include ventricular tachycardia ablations, atrial fibrillation ablations, atrial flutter/SVT ablations, leadless and transvenous pacemakers, ICDs, EV-ICDs, lead extractions, and Watchman device implants
- Uses Epic (CUPID) for charting, Picom PACS, Merge Hemodynamics, and C-arm (Philips Azurion and GE Alea)
- Day shift hours are 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM with no weekend rotation and no on-call requirements
- Late coverage may be scheduled to finish daily cases
- Holiday coverage is not required; department is closed for holidays
- 6-week work schedules are posted in advance
- Responsibilities include assisting physicians during electrophysiology and cardiac device procedures, as well as comprehensive arrhythmia evaluations
- Expected to support all implantable cardiac device procedures including ICDs, pacemakers, EV-ICDs, lead extraction, and Watchman implants
- Duties involve scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring in accordance with lab standards
- Work as part of a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care
- Hospital-issued scrubs and lead protection are provided
- Free parking is available with badge access and street parking options
- Orientation includes organization-wide onboarding and 3-5 shifts of department-specific training
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved if willing to extend contract
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience working in an Electrophysiology Lab
- Current WA State RT, RCIS, or RN license required; License required if applicable
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proven capability to scrub and operate the table simultaneously during procedures
- Experience with Epic (CUPID) EMR preferred
- Familiarity with Picom PACS and Merge Hemodynamics preferred
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot EP-specific equipment including mapping systems, stimulators, and ablation generators
- Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and patient safety
- References from at least one supervisor required for consideration; second reference required prior to start

This is for L&D specifically. The unit is very travel friendly. Good ratios (they try to follow AWHONN standards). You do get breaks. Staff overall welcoming and kind. Midwives do some of the births here.
Cons
No self scheduling anymore. Res/fellows are family medicine not OB.
