Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring an active IL RN license and willingness to float across units.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Day shifts, 3x12 hours per week, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm
- Rotating weekend shifts required, with work every other weekend
- Mandatory floating within the facility and to other campuses within a 50-mile radius as needed
- No block scheduling allowed and no special scheduling requests accepted
- Uses Cerner for charting
- Navy blue scrubs required for all shifts
- Must be able to float to different units and off-site campuses as assigned, with as little as 2 hours' notice
- Team-based model may be used if floated outside primary area of competency
- Strict compliance with onboarding lab work requirements
- Maximum of 5 days of requested time off allowed, no more than 2 consecutive days, and no RTO on weekends or around holidays
- Holiday time off is not permitted
- First-time travelers will be considered
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in Med/Surg
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS preferred
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
- Pending licenses not accepted
