Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit with required IL RN license and mandatory floating responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a hospital Medical Surgical unit
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend coverage is required, totaling 2 weekends per month
- Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Mandatory floating within scope to any Cook facility as needed, up to 50 miles away, with potential notification 2 hours before shift
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Responsibilities include caring for adult patients in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment
- Scrub color is navy blue
- No block scheduling or special schedule requests will be accommodated
- Maximum of 5 days requested time off (RTO) allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO on weekends or holidays
- No RTO permitted the day before or after a holiday
- If floated outside primary competency, a team-based model will be employed
- Strict compliance with onboarding requirements; lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Locals are accepted and preferred
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at the time of application
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS certification preferred
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
