Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2 years of cardiac and telemetry nursing experience and comfort with cardiac drips.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes those with chest pain, arrhythmias, pacemakers, defibrillators, and heart failure
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5-6
• Night shift position from 18:45 to 07:15
• Contracts offered for 13 weeks with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Floating may be required to other telemetry units
• Weekend requirement is 4 weekend days in a 6-week schedule
• Unit uses Pyxis for medication, EPIC for charting, and SBAR for communication
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Navy scrubs required (not provided)
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Working with a heart failure navigator is part of the team environment
• Navy scrubs are required but not provided
• RTO (Requested Time Off) is not allowed after booking and call offs may result in contract cancellation
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of cardiac telemetry nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications required
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start
• Skill in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac GTT required
• Must be comfortable administering cardiac drips, including Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix, and Heparin
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
