Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro position on a day shift in a diverse inpatient setting with telemetry and oncology patients.

Responsibilities

• Work in an inpatient medical/surgical unit with a 27-bed capacity
• Patient population includes neuro, ortho (post back, hip, and knee surgeries), medical/surgical, and oncology cases
• General telemetry patients monitored in a dedicated monitor room; no cardiac drips
• Day shifts, 4x12 hours (7:00 to 19:30)
• Call required as specified by unit needs
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
• Floating to other units as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Primary responsibilities include caring for neuro, ortho, medical/surgical, and oncology patients with telemetry monitoring
• Unit does not manage cardiac drip medications
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Team-oriented unit with support for new travelers
• Scrub/dress code details to be provided based on unit policy

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• A minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Experience with neuro and ortho patient care preferred
