Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a MD or compact RN license, with BLS and NIH certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with patients boarding from the Emergency Department
• Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30
• Patient ratios are 1:5 on weekdays and 1:4 on weekends
• Covers a variety of patient diagnoses excluding critical care cases
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating may be required within the specialty
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to wear navy blue scrubs
• Provide telemetry and medical-surgical care to a broad range of patient cases
• Work with patients who are temporarily housed in the ED border area for the hospital
• Must be able to adapt quickly to a dynamic patient population
• Holiday assignments are based on departmental scheduling

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• CPI certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years recent relevant experience
• First-time travelers with strong experience will be considered
