Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least 18 months of recent experience and Epic proficiency for night shifts and regional floating.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 24-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting with Level 3 trauma designation
• Patient population includes cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and observation cases
• RN to patient ratios are typically 1:5-6, with occasional surges up to 1:7-8
• Required to work 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with every other weekend rotation
• Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division)
• Epic EMR in use; at least 6 months experience with Epic required
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Massimo monitors, and remote telemetry with tech support
• Assigned patients may have various tubes, drains, and require observation care
• Support staff include CNA (1:12), charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT available 24/7, and physician coverage onsite or virtual by shift
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility and unit orientation includes NEO and 2 days departmental orientation
• Navy scrubs required

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• At least 6 months documented Epic EMR experience
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone)
• Skilled in IV starts, blood product administration, and wound care
