Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of recent trauma experience and ARRT certification for an assignment in a hospital diagnostic radiology department.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based diagnostic radiology department assigned to ER or OR areas
• Care for both young and geriatric patient populations
• Perform portable radiography and imaging procedures in various settings including IPD, OR, and ER
• Utilize GE, Carestream, and OEC C-Arms equipment
• Cerner is used for charting (Epic is not used)
• 5x8 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday and every other weekend
• No on-call or block scheduling required
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Perform and explain imaging procedures, position patients for optimal imaging, and use independent judgment for radiographic techniques and safety
• May administer intravenous contrast media and provide immediate care for reactions
• Ensure radiation safety standards are met using ALARA principles
• Assist with maintaining equipment and supplies, follow infection control practices, and complete required documentation in radiology and medical record systems
• Support team by training new hires and students as needed
• Must demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and respect for diversity
• Orientation and online modules must be completed onsite before assignment starts
• Personal scrubs required

Requirements

• Current ARRT (RT) certification required or eligible (must obtain ARRT within 6 months if registry eligible)
• Active MI license required if applicable
• Current AHA BCLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of recent radiology technologist experience required
• Level I or II trauma experience in an OR required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to safely lift/move patients or equipment over 10 lbs as needed
• Must complete online training modules with passing scores prior to start
• COVID-19 vaccination is required
