Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiologic Technologist with at least 2 years of trauma OR experience and ARRT certification for a hospital-based Diagnostic Radiology assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Diagnostic Radiology department with assignments in the Emergency Room or Operating Room
• Duties include portable radiography with adult, geriatric, and young patients
• Patient care may involve trauma level I or II cases
• Technology includes GE, Carestream, and OEC C-Arms
• Cerner is used for charting
• Four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:00am - 5:30pm), Monday through Friday with every other weekend
• No on-call required
• Potential to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Perform radiologic procedures as ordered by physicians and according to department protocols
• Explain procedures, review requisitions, and prepare patients for imaging
• Maintain and restock procedure rooms and supplies
• Administer IV contrast media and monitor for reactions if appropriate
• Follow all safety, infection control, and radiation protection standards
• Document thoroughly in medical records and Radiology Information System
• Assist in training new hires and students when needed
• Must complete onsite online learning modules with passing scores prior to start
• Team environment focused on communication, respect, and customer service
• Scrubs and dress code per hospital policy
• All time-off requests must be discussed prior to assignment; later requests subject to management approval

Requirements

• Active MI radiographer license required if applicable
• ARRT (RT) certification required, registry eligible candidates must obtain registry within 6 months of hire
• AHA BCLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of Radiology experience in a trauma level I or II facility and in the OR
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must complete required hours of continued education
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move equipment or patients in excess of 10 lbs
• COVID-19 vaccination required
