Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring IL RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and strong EKG rhythm strip interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week from 18:45 to 07:15
• Care for patients with cardiac monitoring needs, chronic ventilator experience preferred
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other units may be required
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Block scheduling is not available
• Duties include assessing acute changes in patients and working in a fast-paced telemetry environment
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Two references are required, including one from a direct supervisor or manager
• Vaccination exemptions must be submitted within 48 hours of acceptance
• Completion of required modules prior to start
• Local candidates are not eligible for this position

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand at time of consideration
• At least 1 year of recent telemetry RN experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Competence in rhythm strip interpretation and EKG usage required
• Ability to pass EKG strip test at orientation
• Competence in initiating and maintaining cardiac drips such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and cardizem preferred
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off
