Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Telemetry unit position in Illinois requiring an active IL RN license and competency in rhythm strip interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Telemetry unit
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours from 6:45 to 19:15
• Care for adult patients with a 1:6 ratio
• Responsibilities include chronic ventilator management and EKG monitoring
• Competency in rhythm strip interpretation is required
• Prefer experience with cardiac drips such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and cardizem
• Must work every other weekend
• Floating to other units required
• Uses Epic charting system
• Assess and respond to acute changes in patient status
• Initiate and maintain cardiac drips when needed
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed
• Vaccination exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of acceptance
• Pre-start learning modules required prior to orientation

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry RN experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass EKG strip test at orientation
• Experience in rhythm strip interpretation required
• Competency with ventilator management preferred
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Pending licenses are not accepted
