Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring ICP or ventric experience and Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Neuro ICU of a hospital setting specializing in critically ill adult neuro patients
- 18-bed unit caring for patients with diagnoses such as stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, surgical resections, and trauma
- Works 12-hour evening/night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend and some holiday shifts are required
- Travelers are the first to float and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations
- Use of Epic EMR is required
- Unit provides intensive care for a comprehensive stroke center
- Responsibilities include hemodynamic monitoring, hypothermia therapy, and managing a variety of neurocritical procedures
- Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including nationally certified physicians and strong nurse leadership
- Travelers may be reassigned across departments or locations based on hospital needs
- Parking onsite requires a permit, with alternate transportation also available
Requirements
- Active WI or Compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum of 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years
- Must have completed at least one previous 13-week travel assignment
- Experience with ICP or ventric required
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Basic arrhythmia and telemetry experience required
- Must pass telemetry test before starting assignment
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
