Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring MI licensure, LDRP skills, and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 15-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
• Serve antepartum, labor and delivery, and couplet care patient populations
• RNs provide care in all areas of LDRP, including circulating, scrub, and newborn nurse roles
• Float to other units in the hospital as a sitter and may float to an affiliate hospital’s L&D or Mother/Baby as needed (distance: 27 miles)
• Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week, 19:00-7:30
• Expected to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic for documentation
• Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines for patient ratios
• RNs perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens with ALGO 5 machine
• Scrubs are provided
• May be trained onsite for infant hearing screens
• No RTO permitted during the first 8 days of contract
• Weekend and float requirements as outlined
• Longer contract options may be considered

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of OB, Mother/Baby, and L&D nursing experience
• Current certifications in BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate and/or NCC C-EFM
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Ability to circulate and perform fetal heart monitoring triage required
• Scrub experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required or willingness to learn
