Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring a VA or compact RN license, with EPIC experience and a dysrhythmia exam.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 14-bed Medical ICU at a Level III trauma center
• Patient population includes stroke, STEMI, sepsis, ESRD, DKA, and COPD cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:2-3
• Uses Alaris pumps, Phillips bedside monitors, LifePak Defibs, Artic Sun, and Prismaflex equipment
• Conscious sedation and high acuity care required
• Work schedule is 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Floating requirements not specified
• Navy blue or white scrubs required
• EPIC EMR used; experience required
• Responsibilities include caring for critically ill, high-acuity patients and performing conscious sedation
• May use advanced life-support technologies and hemodynamic monitoring
• Team follows evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary care collaboration
• Participation in holiday and every other weekend rotation is required
• Candidates must wear navy blue or white scrubs as part of the dress code
• Pass/fail EKG testing must be completed on the first day, with study guides provided

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Copy of nursing diploma required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia (EKG) exam on the first day, with two attempts allowed
• EPIC charting experience required
• Local candidates living within a 50-mile radius are not accepted
