Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry night shift position, requiring a GA or compact RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
• Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• Patient ratio is typically 1:4-5 with an average daily census of 35 in a 36-room unit
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and communication
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00), working every other weekend
• Floating to other units as needed
• No call requirements
• Expected to work required holiday shifts in accordance with assignment dates
• No block scheduling is allowed
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO), with no RTO approved during the first week or on holidays
• Full compliance with onboarding required; noncompliance results in a two-week start delay due to bi-weekly orientation
• Travel pairs may not work the same shift on the same unit
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and relevant patient population required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required
• Must provide two supervisory references (manager or above) for consideration
• Perm/PRN employees must have a full year gap from all Piedmont facilities before returning as a traveler
