Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry night shift position, requiring a GA or compact RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based Telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
- Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
- Patient ratio is typically 1:4-5 with an average daily census of 35 in a 36-room unit
- Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and communication
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00), working every other weekend
- Floating to other units as needed
- No call requirements
- Expected to work required holiday shifts in accordance with assignment dates
- No block scheduling is allowed
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO), with no RTO approved during the first week or on holidays
- Full compliance with onboarding required; noncompliance results in a two-week start delay due to bi-weekly orientation
- Travel pairs may not work the same shift on the same unit
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and relevant patient population required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR required
- Must provide two supervisory references (manager or above) for consideration
- Perm/PRN employees must have a full year gap from all Piedmont facilities before returning as a traveler
