Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry RN with at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license for night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
• Unit has 16 beds with an average daily census of 16
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Care includes post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, peripheral vascular disease, and peritoneal dialysis
• Skills expected include telemetry, EKG, and Doppler use
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
• Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Floating required to other Cardiac Telemetry units or as needed
• No call requirements
• Scrub color required is navy blue
• Up to seven days of requested time off is allowed, but none during the first week of assignment
• Full compliance is required before starting; non-compliance may delay start by two weeks
• Holiday coverage required according to assignment duration and listed facility rules
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Travel pairs are not permitted to be scheduled on the same shift in the same unit

Requirements

• Active GA or compact state RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Cardiac Telemetry nursing experience
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Ability to use telemetry, EKG, and Doppler technology
• Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above
• Candidates must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year if returning as travelers
