Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for night shifts requiring at least two years of OR experience and a current LA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a multi-specialty Operating Room in a Level II Trauma Center
• Specialties include ortho, cardio thoracic, ENT, GYN, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology, general surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and robotic procedures
• Night shifts consist of 3x12 hours (18:15-6:45)
• Weekend call and 3 to 4 call shifts per 4-week schedule required
• Schedule may require holiday coverage as needed and support through Mardi Gras
• Hospital provides scrubs
• Responsible for circulating duties, perioperative care, patient assessment, and coordination with surgical and anesthesia teams
• Expected to work independently during off-hours in a community hospital trauma setting
• Adhere to AORN standards and hospital policies to maintain a safe and sterile environment
• Strict RTO policy applies during Mardi Gras; minimize requests for time off between 2/13 and 2/22
• Limited RTO allowed; excessive requests may not be approved

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years Operating Room RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience circulating in a multi-specialty OR required
• Experience in a Level II Trauma Center preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify
• Returning permanent employees must have a 1 year separation before being considered
