Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a LA or compact RN license and at least two years of multi-specialty OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a multi-specialty Operating Room at a Level II Trauma Center
• Patient population includes ortho, cardiothoracic, ENT, GYN, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology, general surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and robotic procedures
• Day shifts (5x8 hours), 6:15 am to 2:45 pm
• Weekend call and 3-4 call shifts required per 4 week schedule
• Work on holidays as needed, especially during Mardi Gras
• Uses Epic EMR, Epic experience preferred
• Hospital provides scrubs
• Role includes circulating, patient assessment, and coordination with surgical and anesthesia teams
• Ensure a safe and sterile environment and adhere to AORN standards and hospital policies
• Collaboration in a fast-paced surgical environment is essential
• Strict RTO policy, especially for Mardi Gras (minimize requests between 2/13 and 2/22)
• Must live outside a 75-mile radius to be eligible for travel assignment
• Former permanent employees at any LCMC facility must have a 1-year separation before being considered

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a multi-specialty Operating Room setting
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
