Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Neuro RN for a days-only position in Illinois, requiring an active IL RN license and BLS/NIH certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in a 23-bed Med/Surg Neuro unit within an acute care, Level I trauma, Magnet hospital
Day shift position, Friday to Sunday, with a 6:45 AM start time
Patient population includes neuro and acute med/surg cases
Will float within scope as needed to meet unit requirements
Cerner EMR used; experience preferred but not required
No on-call required
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Scrubs may be any solid color
Maximum of 5 days requested time off will be considered per assignment
Free parking permit provided; form completed during orientation

Requirements

Active IL RN license required at the time of application
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or Neuro nursing experience required
Certifications required: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale
Experience with PICC line management and IV starts required
Previous charge RN experience preferred

“Management” (yes in quotes bc there isn’t much directive provided) is incredibly cliquey, if you’re on the right side of things it’s great! If you are not, they will speak behind your back to other employees, as they want to be in on all of the supposed tea, without worrying about finding out the truth first.
