Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down RN with strong cardiac experience and Epic proficiency for a night shift contract in Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit in a hospital setting
• Care for post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablation, acute chest pain/MI, and med/surg overflow patients
• Typical patient ratio is 1:4 in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover
• 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• On-call requirements may occur due to low census, with a minimum 2-hour callback if needed
• Epic EMR required, with at least 1 year of recent experience
• Must be able to work independently, demonstrate resilience, and efficiently manage change
• Social candidates who can complete tasks timely are preferred
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Flu and COVID vaccination required or you must wear a mask at all times during flu season
• Scrub colors are flexible; any color may be worn
• First time travelers are not eligible for this position

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Must pass an EKG test during the first week of hire
• At least 1 year of recent, strong cardiac experience in a Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU setting
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required
• At least 1 year of recent Epic charting experience
