Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med Surg RN with ICU and ER experience for a variable shift position in Michigan requiring an active MI RN license and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 25-bed Med Surg unit in a hospital environment
• Typical patient population includes geriatric patients with CHF, COPD, and diabetes
• Patient ratios average 1:4-1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night
• Variable day and night 12-hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a)
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday
• Float to ER and ICU to assist as needed
• May be placed on call for low census with minimum 2-hour callback
• Charting is done in Epic
• General nursing duties focused on acute care of adult and geriatric patients
• May be low-censused and placed on call; call back pay applies per policy
• Travelers are eligible for up to 36 hours of low census unbillable hours per contract
• Required to wear any colored scrubs
• Masking required for those declining flu or COVID vaccination, per Aspirus policy

Requirements

• Current, active MI RN license required
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg nursing experience
• ICU and ER experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of facility
