Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit night shift position in an acute care, Level I trauma center with a minimum of two years' experience and an active IL RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of an acute care hospital
• Level I trauma center and Magnet designated facility
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Average daily census of 21 patients
• Will float within scope as needed based on department requirements
• Every other weekend required
• Uses Cerner for charting
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
• RTO ideally not to exceed 5 days
• No on-call responsibilities
• Scrubs may be any solid color
• Free parking permit provided after orientation

Requirements

• Active IL RN license or proof of application in process
• Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in Med/Surg required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including blood product administration, peripheral line and PICC line management required
• Knowledge of isolation precautions
