Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical night shift position requiring mandatory floating and an active IL RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
- Every other weekend coverage is required
- Mandatory floating within and up to 50 miles outside the home facility as needed
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
- Frequent mandatory floating may include working in units outside your primary competency, utilizing a team-based model as needed
- Navy blue scrubs required and not provided
- Strict compliance with onboarding requirements; lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Maximum of 5 days of requested time off allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no time off permitted before, after, or on holidays or weekends
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at the time of application (no pending licensure accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility
- Proof of COVID vaccination required
