Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical night shift position requiring mandatory floating and an active IL RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• Mandatory floating within and up to 50 miles outside the home facility as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
• Frequent mandatory floating may include working in units outside your primary competency, utilizing a team-based model as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required and not provided
• Strict compliance with onboarding requirements; lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no time off permitted before, after, or on holidays or weekends
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of application (no pending licensure accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility
• Proof of COVID vaccination required
