Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a busy surgical department with a mix of inpatient and outpatient cases, requiring a MD or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a non-trauma designated community hospital surgical department with 14 operating rooms
- Handle a case load of 35-40 cases per day across outpatient and inpatient settings
- Serve diverse patient populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric
- Surgical specialties include General, GYN, Plastics, Ortho, and Bariatrics
- Shift is 11:00-23:30
- On-call required: 4 times per 6 weeks (2 weekdays and 2 independent weekend days/nights)
- Team handles both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures
- All applicants must provide two professional references and a copy of their driver’s license
- Radius rule applies for local candidates, with local rates depending on state distance
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this assignment
- Only one application per candidate permitted across the entire health system
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience in an acute care setting
- Current Nursys verification and primary source license verification within 30 days prior to start
- US Social Security Number and US home address required
- Preferred experience in Ortho, Vascular, Robot, and Plastics cases
- Scrub experience is a plus but not required
