Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week surgical assignment in a high-volume, non-trauma community hospital, requiring a compact or MD RN license and a strong OR background.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Surgery department with 14 operating rooms in a non-trauma designated community hospital
- Average 35-40 surgical cases per day involving general, GYN, plastics, ortho, and bariatric procedures
- Patient population includes pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Assignment is for 13 weeks with shifts from 11:00 to 23:30
- Both outpatient and inpatient surgical cases are handled
- Call requirement includes 4 calls per 6 weeks: 2 weekdays and 2 independent weekend days/nights
- Provide circulating and, if applicable, scrub RN duties during surgeries
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
- Independent call coverage is required on assigned days
- No COVID vaccination required as of July 1, 2023
- Radius rule applies: local candidates accepted at a reduced rate, mileage varies by state
- Dress code and further orientation details provided upon assignment
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience in an acute care setting required
- Preferred experience in ortho, vascular, robotic, or plastics surgeries
- Scrub experience is a plus but not required
- Nursys verification and primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
