Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact license and EPIC proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Emergency Department with 34 beds
• Patient population includes all ages from neonates to geriatrics
• Average daily ED volume is approximately 100 visits
• Day shift, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 to 19:00
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call or block scheduling
• May perform triage, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Uses Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system
• Floating to similar acuity units as needed
• Core responsibilities include emergency patient care, triage, and performing telemetry monitoring and conscious sedation as needed
• Team includes MD/PA emergency providers
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Charge experience preferred but not required
• Must include any requested time off with application to be considered
• Two references are required for consideration
• Scrub color or dress code is not specified

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Minimum two years Emergency Department RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH/Stroke, CPI, and PALS
• Orientation consists of 24 hours
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
