Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN with an active Hawaii license for a flexible night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a medical unit within a hospital setting
• Adult med/surg patient population
• Unit has 77 beds with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:8 on night shifts
• Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
• Night shifts with a 13-week contract, scheduled for 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
• Shift lengths and days vary, requiring schedule flexibility
• May be required to float to the Laulima or Cardiovascular Units
• Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours before assignment begins
• Proof of flu vaccination or documentation for medical or religious exemption required before contract start
• Orientation provided for each unit assignment
• Professional nursing attire required
• Plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before starting to accommodate mandatory health clearance
• Must be adaptable to schedule and shift changes

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by assignment start date
• Minimum of 2 years med/surg RN experience
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS
• Experience using Meditech EMR preferred
