Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Medical Surgical unit night shift position requiring at least one year of recent MS experience and a NM or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 32-bed Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Ratios are 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Rotating weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6 week schedule
• Floating within scope is required
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• No on-call responsibilities
• Documentation is completed using Epic EMR
• Scrub color is flexible as long as no hospital logo is displayed
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local travelers within 50 miles are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must have left at least 1 year prior to returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be automatically approved
• No time off will be approved during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may not be submitted in pairs or groups

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
