Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in a high-volume, Level I trauma and teaching hospital, requiring an NM or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital with Level I Trauma and teaching status
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5, with possible 1:6, due to high patient volume
- Float required to MS/Tele, PCU, lower acuity settings, and Emergency Department within skillset
- Night shift, four 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 pm – 7:30 am)
- Contracts available for 36 or 48 hours per week
- Cerner charting system is used
- Must work at least two weekends in a four-week schedule; may vary based on unit needs
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No local candidates accepted within 75 miles of the facility
- RTO requests greater than 10 days require approval
- Scrub color is black and must be provided by the RN
- No on-call requirements
- Parking is provided at no cost
- Work in a collaborative, high-acuity environment with team support
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required (license may be pending at time of consideration)
- Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg or Telemetry experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Ability to start IVs and provide telemetry care
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with completed exemption form
