Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a LA or compact license, at least two years of relevant experience, and strong surgical skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the hospital Operating Room
• Patient cases include robotics, neuro, plastics, and orthopedic surgeries
• Schedules alternate between two 8-hour shifts (6:30-15:30) and two 12-hour shifts (6:30-19:00) per week
• Role includes weekend and holiday shifts
• On-call required for rotating weekends and late call until 7pm Monday-Thursday, with Friday night call rotation
• May float to other surgical specialties as needed
• Ensure high standards of nursing care for a variety of surgical patients
• Must minimize time off requests, particularly during Mardi Gras (2/13 - 2/22)
• Teamwork and adaptability are essential due to potential floating between surgical specialties
• Holiday coverage is required as part of the contract

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• Minimum two years of Operating Room experience required
• Experience in robotics, neuro, plastics, and ortho surgeries required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Prior cardiovascular surgery experience preferred
• No first time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• Former permanent employees at any LCMC facility must be gone at least one year to be eligible
