Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an Ortho Unit, requiring a MD or compact license and strong ortho/spine experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is on the Med/Surg Tele Ortho Unit within a hospital
• Typical patient population includes ortho (joint replacements, fracture repairs), spine (ACDF, fusions, decompressions), and various med/surg cases
• Unit has 26 beds across 20 rooms
• Utilizes equipment including PCA pumps, Bucks traction, overbed trapeze, SCD sleeves/pumps, foot pumps, Hoyer lift, incentive spirometer, Sara Stedy, and walkers
• Night shift position with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Requires work every other weekend
• Holiday coverage as scheduled is required
• Floating within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed
• No on-call required
• Provide nursing care for ortho, spine, and med/surg patients
• Work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Must be prepared for flexible assignments due to floating requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license for MD or compact state required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years relevant Med/Surg Tele and ortho/spine experience required
• First-time travelers considered if meeting strong experience criteria
