Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with night shifts and on-call or extra shift requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Every 6 weeks: required to take either 2 on-call shifts or work 2 extra shifts
• Weekend shifts as needed
• Recent EPIC EMR experience preferred but not required
• Must pass a cardiac dysrhythmia test during orientation with only one attempt allowed
• Attendance policy applies; more than two missed shifts without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review
• All requested time off must be submitted prior to assignment start; further requests will not be considered
• No local candidates accepted; must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers accepted

Requirements

• Active SC or compact state RN license; pending license accepted if obtained before start
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Tele experience required; 2 years preferred
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI
• Must pass arrhythmia and medication test on first day
• Must be able to shave if required to pass onsite fit testing
