Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in a Certified Stroke Center with neurology and telemetry expertise.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a focus on neurological patients, including a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
- Unit also functions as a telemetry overflow for diverse patient populations
- Handles patients with neuro-related diagnoses as well as general Med/Surg Tele cases
- Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week, 19:00–07:30
- Required to work every other weekend and cover holidays
- Floating to other units may be required to support hospital needs
- Provide care for patients in a Certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
- Must be prepared to manage a variety of patient populations beyond neurology when the unit is used as telemetry overflow
- Holiday shifts are required as part of the rotation
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Experience in neurology and Med/Surg Telemetry settings required
- Successful completion of basic EKG testing through Prophecy Relias before orientation
