Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with recent experience in cardiac and peripheral catheterization for a Level 2 acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiac catheterization lab with 2 procedure labs, 1 hybrid room, and a 6-bed recovery area
• Patient population includes STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, stroke requiring neuro-intervention, peripheral angiography, line and drain placement, and loop recorders
• Average caseload is 5 cases per day
• Uses Philips monitoring equipment, McKesson in the labs with Philips tables, and a BiPlane in one lab
• Epic EMR is used
• Day shifts are 8 hours, scheduled 0700-1530
• On-call required 2-3 nights per week, every 3rd weekend, and 2-3 holidays per year
• Typically staff do not float to other units
• Department-specific orientation consists of 32 hours (4 shifts)
• Charge nurse is present on each shift and may take assignments
• Hospital scrubs are provided
• Holiday-call coverage required 2-3 times per year
• There is no radius rule; local rates apply for candidates living within 50 miles of the facility
• COVID vaccination is not required for this assignment

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year recent experience with heart and peripheral catheterization procedures
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Active IL license required or confirmation that application has been initiated; license required if applicable
• Familiarity with Philips equipment and McKesson preferred
• All licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration
• Negative drug screen required for all panels
