Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) with at least 1 year of experience and ARRT, BLS, and WV X-ray License for an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital radiology department with 4 rooms: 3 general X-ray, 1 fluoro, 2 portable units, and 3 C-arms
- Patient care includes general X-ray studies, OR cases (cystos, ortho, GI), and fluoro cases (ortho and GI)
- Average of 110 studies per day
- EMR used is Cerner Community Works; PACS system is Intellirad/Intelliconnect
- Equipment includes C-arms (OEC), GE AMX portables with DR-Konica, Del Medical, Siemens, and Philips diagnostic rooms
- Scheduled for 4x10 hour night shifts, options include 12:30p-11p or 9p-7a, with every other weekend
- Potential to float between general department, fluoro, and OR
- May be the only technologist in-house overnight
- Participate in all aspects of radiology including general, portable, surgical, and fluoroscopy imaging
- Orientation includes 5 shifts with a preceptor
- May wear any color scrubs as long as clean and professional; Emerald Green preferred if matching permanent staff
- Radiology team comprises 6-7 technologists during days, 3-4 on evenings, and 1 on midnight shifts
- In-house radiologist until 5pm, with on-call support and Vrad interpretation coverage overnight
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend work required every other weekend
- May be included in holiday rotation
- 50 mile radius rule applies for eligibility
- Those who have worked at any WVU Medicine location must have a 2-year gap before reapplying; cumulative experience limit of 1 year as a traveler, then a 2-year break is required
Requirements
- ARRT certification, BLS, and active WV X-ray License required
- Minimum of 1 year radiology technologist experience
- Proficiency in general X-ray, portable, OR, and fluoro modalities
- Ability to function independently, especially on midnight shifts
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR and digital PACS preferred
- WV CARES clearance required prior to start
- License required if applicable

staff is not generally very friendly. Most staff are not helpful. The aides except for one or two are not helpful at all. They will argue with you when you ask for help.
