Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a WI or compact license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and a minimum of one year of recent OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting in a Level II Trauma Center
• 16 operating suites with an average of 28 cases per day
• Primary day shifts with options for 4x10-hour days (0700-1730) or 5x8-hour days (0700-1530), plus one week of PM shifts (1500-2330) every 5 weeks
• Night shift available for candidates with prior experience at the facility
• Call required 1-2 nights per week and 1 weekend every 5-6 weeks
• Holiday requirement of at least 1 holiday per year
• Floating to the Outpatient Surgery Center may be required
• Cerner EMR currently in use, transitioning to Epic
• RNs are not required to scrub
• A charge RN is always present in the OR with 24/7/365 coverage
• Scrubs are provided at no cost via Cintas vending (navy blue)
• Unit-specific orientation includes 2-3 days with an educator and 1-2 weeks of additional case flow training if needed
• All clinicians must clock in and out onsite
• Call response times are 30-45 minutes depending on assignment
• A reduced pay rate applies for local candidates within 80 miles

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
• Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent circulating experience in the OR
• Must be able to circulate general, GYN, urology, peripheral vascular, ortho (including total joints and trauma), neuro/ENT/oral/plastics cases, and specialized procedures listed
• Two professional references required, including one supervisor reference
• Former permanent staff must have a separation of at least 6 months prior to consideration
