Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a rural hospital unit requiring 1 year of experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Med/Surg unit within a rural hospital setting
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, implementing nursing interventions per physician orders, and hourly rounding using the 4 P’s
• Care for patients with central lines, chest tubes, foley and suprapubic catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and high fall risk
• Precept and mentor novice staff as needed
• Participate in hospital initiatives and evidence-based practices
• Expected to demonstrate professional growth via education and goal setting
• Must follow hospital safety and service excellence standards

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of med/surg nursing experience
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Primary source license verification needed
